My father's advice on men.
Some background:
So I've been dating my SO for a year. I spend 95% of my time at his place because I live with my parents. I realized I couldn't sit around and wait for him to be ready to live together. So I started applying for jobs in my area and looking for apartments (we are a distance couple. 1.5 hours apart). I got a job offer from my local walmart and when I told him he called me and asked me to move in. I was thinking "Why is he doing this now?"
My dad told me something I found to be pretty wise. He said sometimes men struggle with making big moves in a relationship, especially when they're comfortable. Sometimes, all it takes is for him to see you making moves for yourself to realize you dont need him. You aren't waiting on him. Through that realization, he has realized what he really wants out of the relationship.
Or, in my dad's words, "Sometimes all it takes is for you to make a move to get a man off his ass." 🤣
