Starting breastfeeding again?

Hi, I had my daughter 3 months ago and breastfed for only 4 days 🙁 At the time my recovery got in thw way so i had to stop. Can anyone tell me is it possible to start producing milk again after all this time? Also was on the pill for one month since but have came off it again.

It is but it’s going to take a lot of work. You can start by pumping ever 2 hours and maybe 4 at night. You probably won’t see much for the first week or 2.

You can try. Talk to an ob or midwife about inducing lactation. Sometimes even adoptive parents or parents who didn't carry babies can induce lactation, even without having been pregnant at all. As far as I know, it's not always easy, but it is potentially possible and worth a try!

I found a really helpful breastfeeding support page on Facebook (Support - One ounce at a time) there is always mention of their other page (Relactation - One ounce at a time) when people are asking about starting back up breastfeeding. It might be worth joining the group as there sounds to be lots of people who have successfully restarted 😊
