Car seat recos (for small back seats)

I installed my new peg perego 435 into my ford escape and quickly realized that in order for it to fit, the passenger seat would have to be moved all the way up. No bueno bc my husband and I are both very tall. Middle seat installation is not an option bc according to the officer who was checking the car seat, our seats are too bouncy for a tight fit without a latch. Anyway! Any recos for a smaller sized infant car seat??? And it would have to be a model that's compatible with our bob revolution stroller...
