Can babies forget how to fall asleep on their own?

My baby was doing SO well at putting herself to sleep. We’d do our pre-nap or pre-bed routine and then I’d put her in her cot and she would go to sleep no fuss (most of the time).

She’s been sleeping so poorly lately though and seems to need me more and more to go to sleep. We went away for a couple days so her routine was mucked up, is it possible that she’s forgotten that she can put herself to sleep?

EDIT: she put herself to sleep for bed and slept 7.5 hours, fed, then another 3 hours with no fuss! Put herself to sleep for her first nap of the day too which was 1.5 hours 👏🏻 I think it was due to a leap + being out of routine, but she’s settling back home now.
