Ear piercing

My girl just turned 1 and we are wanting to get her ears pierced. Only thing is that she is teething and when she teeths she likes to swipes her ears.(Doc confirmed no ear infection and hearing seems fine.)When did you get your little ones ears pierced? What is a good age to get them done?
