Used Breast Pump?

Question

So what am I supposed to do with a used breast pump? I think it’s illegal to sell them. I only had milk for three weeks. And I didn’t have a pump for the first week. My daughter wouldn’t latch so I solely pumped. It’s had two weeks worth of use. If I can’t sell it what am I supposed to do with it? It’s basically brand new.

*Technically* you aren’t supposed to sell/buy a used breast pump if it is an open pump system. Specifically medela is one and spectra is not.

I’ve seen used ones on eBay but they’re super cheap, like $30 for quality ones

I was given a used pump and it worked great. My lactation consultant said a used pump was fine as long as it's been maintained properly and I clean it before I used it. She did say to replace some of the inner workers like the tubing but the flanges and bottles were fine. Sell it for what you want, donate it, or gift it to someone else
