Feeling discouraged

Our daughter has been in the NICU for 2 weeks and 4 days now. Everything is going great, the only reason she’s still here is because feeds. She can’t take everything in a bottle without getting tired. They don’t like to keep babies just for issues with taking a bottle, so we, with the help of the doctors opinions, have decided to have a G-tube inserted so she can go home and we can work on it with her there instead of the hospital.

The NP came in today discussing the surgery and said we could get her in for it in 2-3 days, but the doctor came in later and said she can’t get in for it for another week. Plus the recovery time after that, she could still be in here when she hits a month old, which for some reason really makes me sad.

I was so hoping she’d be home by then. I think I’m feeling down because the idea of home was mentioned and it got me all excited, but now it’ll probably be another 2 more weeks! 😞😞😞
