Just curious! My husband and I were talking about how we need to have more in savings because we have a baby now. How much does your family have in savings? Also if you want to share, how many kids and do you live paycheck to paycheck?

We're currently doing dave Ramsey's total money makeover and on baby step #2 (paying off debt) so our emergency fund is probably smaller than I'd like it to be but we're getting there!

You should aim to have no less than the equivalent of 6 months worth of household bills. I know this seems like a large number, but especially with a baby, it’s so important. If you’re looking to learn to save or find ways to save more, reach out to your bank. Most banks have moved to an “advice center” model and are equipped with tools and products to help you meet your goals!

We have 2 kiddos. We have $20k in savings. Was just over $60k but we just bought a new house and put a large amount down, plus closing costs. I know we have plenty but it’s scary to watch that much disappear from your account in one day 😳
I’m a SAHM, my husband works a great job. We currently own 3 houses (I know, we’re absolutely insane) but the two we had before and aren’t keeping have signed purchase agreements and we are set to close on one next week and the other in 3 weeks. We’ll build our savings up pretty quick once we’re down to one house payment and one set of utilities.

I have two kids. A whole $0.00 in savings 😅 we technically don’t live paycheque to paycheque, but we are aggressively paying off debt. I’m lucky enough to be able to borrow money from my mom if an emergency comes up. Once we are done paying off debt we will save up 6 months of bills worth.

We just have one baby. We do not live paycheck to paycheck. My husband thankfully works a great job where he makes enough money for our bills and for me to stay home. He does get three substantial bonuses throughout the year which is why we have a good amount in savings.
