Ovulation strips

So I ordered the easy at home ovulation strips and have been using them now I not sure what's going on. I haven't had a positive opk to my knowledge the closest one I got was this one. According to my tracker I was supposed to ovulate on the 8th. That day i had some pink/ brown spotting that happened. It was mixed with egg white cm. I was just wondering is there a possibility that I missed my lh surge? Is there a possibility that my lh surge just wasn't high enough for the test to pick up? I do want to mention that I have pcos but I was on provera last month to jump start my period. I'm new to trying to track ovulation.
