Too available?

I just realized that I’m too available always for my boyfriend... meaning, I’m always waiting for HIS texts/replies. I’m always waiting for HIS calls, but when he texts/calls me. I answer.

He takes hours to reply. And doesn’t always answer my phone calls.

It has me feeling clingy even when I am not trying to me. I would like it to be equal. Should I lay off? I’m not trying to play games but I just hate always being the one that tries the hardest in relationships. If I reply slower will he notice or will it just be equal between us..?
