Just wondering what nickname the name Jameson would get?

I don't understand the point of giving a unique name like Jameson to call him James. I feel like if you want him called James, name him James. They're both great names but with a different feel. If you're wanting it to stand out with the son at the end, call him that.

My nephews name is Jaymison and they call him Jay I think it still applys even if you dont spell it with the y.. they didnt want people calling him James

Unless the father's name is James, I don't see the point in naming a child Jameson and planning on calling him something else.
But I'd go with Jamie.
