How do you not use a changing table?

I mean, I know how but we have one of those dressers that have a changing pad border thing around it. Were still changing him on it. And its so convenient. I also use it to dress him and apply lotion after baths.
I cant get past that though. I can get past changing a wet diaper. But how do you change a poopy diaper on the floor? 
Im dreading him out growing the table top one because i can just invision him having a poop diaper and he tries crawling away and then getting poop all over my carpet.
How do you do it???

Distractions! We sing songs, play with a toy or the remote, anything. We still use a change table upstairs but just our living room ottoman downstairs. She'll be too big eventually but for now it's working.

In her room (which is upstairs and that's where she gets baths), we have a thicker baby blanket that I lay down on the floor and she lays on that while I change her. I wash it often. I use it when I change her and after her baths for lotion and getting her dressed. Then when we are downstairs in the living room she is on the floor on a blanket or the floor itself. I have managed not to get poop all over anything yet. 🤞🤞 But I always give her something to play with while she gets changed and I often hold her legs.

I used to feel the same way but once he got too wiggly I was afraid he’d fall. For the last 3 months or so we do floor and he understands what a diaper change is now and won’t fight it. He actually comes to me when he’s gone poopy and willingly let’s me change him. 
But I also do the method of sliding the clean diaper under him before I remove the dirty one, I open the dirty one and fold it under him so the poop is covered, and then once it’s all wiped up I I completely slide the dirty one out at the clean one just needs to be adjusted and closed. We’ve never had any messes that way on our carpet, hopefully I don’t jinx myself 🤪

I put the clean diaper under, slightly lift get bottom pull off the old and clean before I set her bottom on the new one. Same as you would for any other diaper change...
If your talking about the wiggling, I sing or give her a toy and ask her to grab her toes and clap, things like that. It honestly only takes like 30 seconds even with a poopy diaper so it's no big deal 🤷

99% of the time she runs off naked and I put the new one on while she's walking 🤷‍♀️

We had to use the floor for months because he was obsessed with rolling at one point on the change table. We would do it on the floor with a change pad underneath. It was also easier to put toys or a video on the floor for distractions. Now we are back at the change table because the rolling phase is over.
