Glucose testing

Marie

So I failed my 1 hour test and was told it was “slightly elevated”.... the few days prior to my test I had increased the amount of sugar intake unintentionally.. I was getting through a bad cold/allergies so lots of Gatorade and tea with honey was literally ALL I was consuming for about four day. I questioned if this could cause the elevation but didn’t really get a direct answer.... so they wanted me to do the 3 hour test. Usually that would be no problem but with the coronavirus spreading like a wildfire I didn’t feel comfortable going to an ACL Lab and sitting in the waiting room for the 3 hour duration of the test. Instead they offered to send me diabetic supplies and have me test 4 times a day for two weeks to see where we stand with that. Has anyone done this before? How did it go? I do realized I need to alter my diet and have no problem doing that.

Also would like to mention my city currently has 4 cases of the coronavirus. The first case was NOT handled properly at all, individual was NOT tested with proper protocol nor was this person properly quarantined even AFTER testing positive. 🤦🏻‍♀️ At this point as far as I’m concerned this virus is EVERYWHERE. I have asthma, I’m pregnant, also have a 2 year old little girl and a family full of elderly individuals some with medical problems. So I am TERRIFIED to leave my house for anything. 😰😰😰
