Interesting poll. We never had subtitles on before our son. After our son, we muted tv and read everything. Once he got older, I started reading out loud to him so he gets the vocabulary if I ever let the tv be on. It helps kids learn to read later on, as well. Also, I noticed that I missed some things while I wasn't reading.

Depends. Sometimes I have trouble hearing dialogue over ambient sounds or music so I’ll turn them on if I’m struggling.

Depends. Some shows/movies are easier to hear and understand and I don’t need the captions. Some I have to put the captions on (accents, poor audio quality, etc.).
