Is the Lord receiving your worship?

Amos 5:21-26

21)I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.

22)Though ye off me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.

23) Take though away from me the noise of of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.

24)But let judgment run down as Waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.

25)Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Isreal?

26)But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chuin your images, the start of your god, which ye made to yourselves.

* I'm making this post for us to individually take time to examine ourselves. Are we in a place where God hears us and we hear God? Or, are we in a place of religious routine that produces nothing? Are we as individuals experiencing a disconnect from God? Now with that being said, to break down these scriptures started with verse 21 God says to Isreal He hates their feast days. Yes these are days the He(God) ordained for them to keep. But because of their constant sinning He can not longer stand when they gather in His name to make sacrifices. Verse 22 God informs them that He is no longer accepting their offerings. (Now in this day and time we dont offer animals but we offer up praise and worship.) Their sin lead God to close up heaven so that the offering would not be accepted. Verse 23 Then God informs them to remove the "noise" of their music. God didnt even regard it as praise or honor towards Him. But it was just noise that He didnt want any part of. Verse 24 God calls for His Judgment to fall as waters and righteousness as mighty streams. They pushed God to the point where He decided to release His judgement on Isreal. That as a result His righteousness can flow again.

Verse 25 The prophet Amos reminds the people that in there place of wondering they survived off of faith and not off of ritual or sacrifice. Verse 26 This is the thing they've offended in is they are entering in to Shrines of Moloch and worshiping the saturn. Which for yall who dont know the worship of moloch involved child sacrifice.

Now I pray none of us are involved in anything that outlandish. But, we still need make sure we aren't worshipping anything or exalting anything or any one above God.
