Adderall while pregnant?

Hey guys, I'm still very early but don't see my doc till late November. Does anyone take adderall? I haven't taken it since I found out and I usually only take it 3 days a week when I work. But I've heard positive and negative and my research says that they never tested it but on lab rats it did increase miscarriage sometimes.

Anyone else been through this while pregnant ?

Unfortunately, there are no easy answers a lot of times when it comes to prescription drugs and other things during pregnancy. All we can do is research, weight the pros and cons, talk to our doctors and make the best decision. Most miscarriages and birth defects are attributed to nothing more than a chromosomal abnormality in the sperm/egg and there's just nothing that can be done. That being said, adderral is a Category C drug and most doctors would recommend sticking to Category A and B only. There may be an alternative the doc can put you on. If it was me personally, I would stay away from any Category C drugs before talking to he doc. Brain development starts early and it's better to be safe, esp during the first trimester. I feel your pain, I have ADD and am finishing a master's program at 29 weeks. It's such a struggle but I'm trying to use some tricks to help me get through all the reading. Don't take it. I had to stop too and it was rough coming down off that and not drinking coffee while working 45-52 hours a week as a nurse all while having a two year old at home.

No but I have mentioned here that I was on vyvanse for about 3 years and stopped getting prescription refills when I began TTC. I find that diet and exercise really does help and so do the prenatals. Some days are harder than others, ADHD + pregnancy brain is a really challenge, but you make sacrifices for baby. Maybe one day they will develop ADHD meds that are pregnancy safe

I wouldn't my psychiatrist gave me a whole speech about how any stimulants while pregnant can cause heart conditions in the fetus and low birth weight etc she recommended highly against it
