Yes it’s a tradition in my family but sometimes I find a name I really love and I’m like f it 😂 I like it but I won’t let it deter me if I really love a name.

NOT AT ALL My mom has five kids and all of us have A names Austin, Alana, Adam, Aaron, Anne and honestly it is terrible back when I lived with them if someone called for you but you couldn’t quite make it out then you all have to come because it all sounds the same, and my mom is one of six kids all with K names (and their parents names start with K too) 🤦‍♀️

I wanted to but my husband and I couldn’t agree on an L name for our second boy. I settled for Elias, first syllable sounds like the letter L.

My sister and I have the same first letter in our first names, middle names, and obviously last names. But if I were to have kids, I’d probably not do that

My husband has the same first initial as his dad and it’s actually been really annoying for him because like his email address/username on things when it’s supposed to be just your first initial/last name is the same as his dad’s. It’s not an AWFUL problem, but it’s a little annoying. Not annoying enough for us to reject a name just because it starts with the same letter, but enough that we wouldn’t do it deliberately. 
Which also sucks because our top 2 boy names (which we both LOVE) both start with the same letter 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 so if we end up with 2 sons we may end up doing it anyway lol.
