Is it the BC?? Help!!

Alright, I started loloestrin about a month and a half ago (first birth control ever). when I first started it I was halfway through my regular cycle, so I got my period on my normal cycle date, not when I was taking the sugar/placebo pills. Basically, I think I had already ovulated so it was already in place and too late to miss/align that period to the sugar pills.

I continued to take my pill as normal and I’ve been very religious with taking it on time. My period per my old cycle was supposed to start 4 days ago but hasn’t, though I did have a little cramping and the typical “period poops” for a few days. My discharge is normal and nothing seems out of whack, I’m just not bleeding.

Should I take a pregnancy test or is this normal? This is my first full cycle taking BC from day 1 so I guess this is different and maybe I’ll get my period upon taking the sugar pills? I have probably a week or so until I take those but I’m still nervous.
