My daughter swallowed a magnet, and I can't be with her at the ER.

Just a rant.

My 4 year old swallowed a quarter sized magnet as I was cleaning out junk drawers in the kitchen. She can breathe, talk, and hold down liquids but says her stomach is killing her.

Luckily, my FIL is a retired ER physician and made some phone calls for us to which he was told to bring her in for an xray.

But, I can't go with her due to being 22 weeks pregnant and with super high cases of coronavirus in our town at the moment, it's not safe for me to be out. I was totally up for it and said I'd wear the PPE needed but both my FIL and the DRs at the hospital told me no. We've been self quarantined for 17 days now and it breaks my heart that her dad and grandpa will be the only people with her even though she's just getting an xray done.

I'm so ready for this virus to be done with so I can be the parent I need to be.
