Terrible heartburn / maybe GERD ?

So last night I got woke up out of my sleep coughing up acid and I could barely breathe . It was so awful I’m 21 weeks . Can an OB prescribe something for it or do you just have to buy something over the counter ?

Pepcid complete works really good and the active ingredient is the same as the prescription someone else mentioned. My husband had had trouble finding pepcid stocked though. Guess everyone is eating bad and getting heartburn in quarantine!

The heartburn is the worst! Especially when it wakes you up in the middle of the night ☹️ my Dr prescribed me Famotidine, it's helped me a lot! The other thing that helps me is almond milk. I have been walking up around 3 almost every night with terrible acid reflux, I drink some almond milk and I'm able to go back to sleep. I think regular milk would be fine too it has just been giving me a stomach ache
