Today, I was supposed to have my anatomy scan and my appointment with my midwife’s backup physician.

It took me 2.5 months to get approved for Medicaid so I could go see this doctor. I confirmed with the insurance company 3 weeks ago that they covered this physician.

Yesterday (day before appointment) the dr calls and asks what kind of Medicaid I have. I tell them, and they tell me they don’t take that version 🙃

It would cost $488.80 to see him out-of-pocket, and that’s technically insurance fraud (to see an out of network dr as a self pay patient when you have insurance).

So, here I am, 20 weeks 4 days. Not knowing when I’ll get the insurance switched to one that they do approve, not knowing what restrictions or availabilities there’ll be in 2-3-4 weeks.

In such a stressful time in the world, I wish normal life issues could just... pause. For a while.
