Breastfeeding 6.5 months

Va

Hi! So my baby girl is 6.5 months now and I do breastfeeding and formula bottles. I started transitioning her to formula bottles in February/March when I went back to work and she was going to start daycare soon. I pumped and gave 50/50 breastmilk/formula and eventually got her to take full bottles of formula. I figured I would stop breastfeeding by now because I’d be fully back to work and she would have started daycare. With this pandemic and everything being closed, I’m working from home and she’s home with me, of course. I decided to continue breastfeeding, but kind of part-time. I usually alternate breastfeeding and bottle throughout the day.

New problem: Have you had an issue with your baby biting on your nipple??? She has her two front bottom teeth and they are razor sharp. She often bites on my nipple now and kind of pulls. Doesn’t surprise me because she bites on EVERYTHING! It hurts soooo bad and I don’t know what to do about it. I’m terrified of breastfeeding now. I was worried maybe she wasn’t getting enough milk and was frustrated so I pumped to see and I was getting plenty for what she eats. She’s also incredibly distracted and doesn’t breastfeed well during the day. The only good breastfeeding session I feel we are getting is first thing in the morning when she wakes up. I hate to give up the breastfeeding entirely because it’s great for her and it’s easy, but it’s not seeming successful or relaxing anymore. Does it seem like I should wean her from the breast entirely now??? I’m very anxious with the breastfeeding because of the biting and how bad it hurts and I feel like there’s no way to stop that... she’s too young to understand! Help!

Thanks so much for listening! And advice is appreciated.
