Waiting until marriage?

So I’ve heard many different opinions on this but, what’s the point of waiting until marriage to have sex?

For me it was about values.  
A man wasn't going to get the most intimate thing I had/have until he gave me is heart, hand and vows. 
He had to earn what he wanted. I personally didn't let anything sexual happen till after marriage.  I didn't even agree to kissing till we had decided to marry.  My husband saw that as a wonderful thing. He struggled with the no kissing but he is thankful I had the rules I did. He said it made the first kiss AMAZING. He said the same about sex. He had girls offer sex before and had turned them down.  He had decided to wait till marriage as well. So when he meet me and I held the same values that peeked his interest. Not having sex before marriage allows the person to get to know the other person without the hormonal rushes of sex. It allows you to focus on who they are not how good or bad they are in bed. I don't regret waiting. Our wedding night was amazing.

Because some people have different values when it comes to sex. Some people value the commitment of only being with one person forever before they have sex with them

honestly no clue. i’d rather know what i’m getting before sealing the deal. most do it from religion or their own morals.

I think it's usually religious reasons .
For me, I waited until I was a lot older and met the right person but it wasn't religious or marriage related. 
I'd like to know I'm sexually compatible with someone before marrying them!

Commitment. Not having to worry about STDs. Saving yourself for someone you love. I didn’t do it but I understand the mindset
