It’s a long story so bear with me😂 On April 6th I got induced to have my baby. I was getting induced because my son had a cleft lip and most likely cleft palate and the hospital where I live is not equipped so I had to go out of town. I got in my room around 1:30 am and I was 1 centimeter, so they gave me an oral pill to help thin me out and dilate. It kept me up all night and caused me to contract. It wasn’t super uncomfortable just made it hard to sleep. Then at 10 am they started me on pitocin. It caused me to have contractions about every minute but they still weren’t too bad just like crampy. Around 12:00 they upped my pitocin and I was 3 centimeters. I was in a good amount of pain then but I wanted to wait until 6 centimeters to get the epidural. They gave me some pain medicine through IV and I tried to take a nap but during that they came in and broke my water. I didn’t even feel it when they did it it was just a little bit of pressure. But after my water broke contractions were only 30 seconds apart and getting intense so I decided to go ahead and get the epidural at 1:00. It worked wonders and I got to rest a little bit. They checked me at 2:00 and I had dilated to a 7 and at 2:20 I was dilated to 10. They got everything set up and we were just waiting on the doctor at that point. They had to take me to the OR almost right after because he ripped me inside all the way up. My husband is deployed so he couldn’t be there, but the nurses held the Ipad so he could see and included him as much as possible.

At 3:07 pm Ian Cole made his appearance weighing 7 pound 5 ounces and 22 inches long💙 We were also informed that his palate is intact!! So he will only need one surgery to fix his lip and then another surgery around 9 to get a bone graft😁
