Over it

I'm having problems with bv. It keeps coming back every few months and I'm sick of it. Ive had the same sexual partner for 8 years, I don't use perfume soaps down there or anything so idk what to do. I've been to the doctor and the medication seems to work but then it just comes back a few months later. Has anyone had this issue before? How did you fix it?
