Do you think child birthing classes are necessary if you plan on an epidural?

I honestly just watched some vids on YT and just reminded myself that this is natural and that my body will know what to do when the time comes. I was right, just breathe through it all and try to stay as relaxed as possible, everything else will come naturally.

Personally I didn’t find the need. My body and the nurses know what to do and how to help. I didn’t need to learn different birthing methods because I wanted in hospital with an epidural.
Some people that have taken those classes now have life long friends so that’s the only reason I wish I did.

No. I never was admitted to a hospital or got an IV or anything before my first and it was fine. I don’t think it hurts to take birthing classes, probably a smart thing to do. It’s definitely not necessary though.

Its a good idea to know what generally happens in the process. My husband and I went to a childbirth preparation class and we were really glad that we did. Not everything was useful to us but the majority of what we heard was helpful and needed.

Epidural is just pain management which doesn’t really work well for everyone.
