Stimulus money, anyone in the same situation?

Sorry if this is in the wrong group. I don’t know where to put it.

I know there have been so many questions about this. But, I am so confused. I tried calling the social security office but they’re asking you not to call about the stimulus money, so I decided I would ask here first before I actually hold to talk to someone.

My son gets disability and since he’s a minor, it’s in my name. Both of our names are on it though, which means both of our social security numbers are on it. I don’t file taxes. I have read and read about if I need to fill out a non-filers tax form. It says no, but it says if you have qualifying dependents then you do. Also, my boyfriend claimed my son and me as dependents on his tax return. He didn’t get earned income credit for my son, we were both just a tax credits (dependents). I read where if someone claimed you as a dependent on their tax return, you aren’t eligible for the stimulus money. We told the lady that did his taxes that my son gets disability and she said it doesn’t matter because my boyfriends name isn’t on it. I also read that if a person claimed anyone on their tax return that was not considered earned income credit, then they won’t get the stimulus money for those people. So if that’s true, my boyfriend won’t get the money for my son or me. He hasn’t gotten his yet. I’m so confused on what I need to do, if anything. Should I fill out a non-filers tax form online? Would it hurt anything if I did and I didn’t need to?
