How long until pain subsided after birth? For the veteran moms..

I'm PETRIFIED of after birth pain when we get home from the hospital. I have always had an intense fear of this, to the point it makes me nauseous and light headed when I even think (let alone look it up).

The day after I was very sore, but nothing super intense. I spent that day on a heating pad and got up to pee and shower only. The female body is amazing and heals it self very quickly! Don’t be afraid :)

I’m on my first so I can’t speak from personal experience, but my girlfriend just delivered in December and she said “padsicles” were a life saver 😂
Grab yourself some panty liners, aloe Vera gel, witch hazel and lavender oils. Apply all three to the pad and then wrap it back up and put it in the freezer. She said it was so cooling and soothing!

I was in pain if I did certain motions or moved carelessly only in the hospital. They let me go home after three days and I felt alright but quite sore for a few more days.
I also got a second degree tear, stitched up. I did not rest properly and all the moving around rubbed at the sound, about a week after delivery it got swollen and very painful. This does not happen if you actually rest but I didn't know that! A few days of bedrest took care of it.
A no-complications delivery will leave you pained for a day or so, and then sore for a week if you take care of yourself. If the situation allows, let your mother take care of your home for a week or so (many grandmas love being included in this way, being able to help and see the baby is an absolute win for them lovely ladies) or make your husband do the minimum necessary chores and only start doing them after you're actually feeling up to it.

I think it just depends on your body. My first child I was in labor for 22 hours. My epidural was wearing off and it was a miserable birth pain wise. I was sore for about a week or two. My second child was a walk in the park. I was terrified to have another baby after my first experience in labor. I was induced with my second and only 17 hours of labor and 30mins of pushing. I was up walking around the next day. Obviously I was sore but not too bad. Just rest and don’t over do it. Everyone is different. Don’t stress too much over it.

I was pain free almost instantly. No painful poops, no real pain in my vagina. I was up and walking around right away.

I voted a week as you may have some discomfort with movements and such but I lived with my Tucks Pads and the antiseptic/numbing spray for when I needed to go to the restroom. I made “padsicls” to use but didn’t need them 😊

With my first, I had a traumatic birth. I could barely walk or sit down for six weeks after he was born. 
With my second, also traumatic (but because of the staff, not the birth itself) I didn't really feel any pain after the first couple of days. And I was walking normally the following day.

Had a terrible forcep delivery and healing the first week was like giving birth again every time I moved. Then the following 6 weeks were uncomfortable and in some positions painful.
