Is Evie a strong enough name?

I’m in love with the name Evie! (Like eve-e) I feel like it is a complete enough name, but DH thinks it’s more of a Nick name. I know Evelynn could be a full name for it; but I’m looking for other suggestions because I’m not sold! Thanks!

Honestly. I think it’s a very good name. I named my boy Ollie. Because I don’t like the name Oliver but Ollie I love. I didn’t want his name to be a name that I wouldn’t be calling him just to make it “fuller”. If you want to name your baby Evie and call her Evie. Name her it. Otherwise you’re going to hear a lot of Evelyns when it isn’t the name you intended to call her.

My girl is an Evie! I had struggled with it being a nickname too. I liked Evelyn, but my husband did not. We both loved Evie and decided not to name her something we didn’t love just to use the nickname.

We chose the full name Evelyn but still call her Evie. We figure Evelyn will look more professional when she gets older while Evie can be fun and cute when she's little.

It’s too cutesy and not strong imho. I think it’s better to give kids full names they can use as adults if they choose to, and you call them the nickname.
I have a brother named William and for his childhood he was called “Billy.” He now HATES that nickname. And since he still has a full name, he has options now as an adult to be called something else.
So I’m not a fan of giving kids nicknames as full names for that reason. It doesn’t leave them with much when they grow up.
