She’s 18 so I couldn’t really stop her but I’d talk to her about everything that comes along with it. Entering a child’s life and helping with them takes a lot. I’d be more worried about the child becoming attached to her and then them not working out.

She’s 18 so you can’t “let her” do anything. Just because someone has a child doesn’t mean they’re a bad person. People have sex, sometimes they don’t think about condoms, and bAm baby is made.

At 18 she can make her own decisions and you telling her what to do will only push her to rebel and do it )(or worse) anyways. Trust me- I was that girl. At 18 I got into a relationship with a guy who was 25, had a felony, a past drug addiction (heroin) AND a 3 year old. He relapsed, so he dumped me to not drag me through that (good on his part). But I had no business playing step mom at 18-19. I was good at it, and I loved that little girl with my entire heart, but I had no business. But my mom let me figure that out on my own and I’m glad she did. It’ll go one of two ways. It’ll either go just fine and great and they’ll be together forever, or they won’t and she’ll learn from her mistakes. Youve gotta let them fall on their own and trust that you did a good enough job teaching them to make their own choices. Good luck❤️❤️

I don’t think you need to let an 18 year old do anything.... anyway I been dating someone for years he has a daughter and my parents were not supportive. I was 19 they made me break up with him. Did I? Hell no! Guess what I am still with this guy and now have a toddler with him. As parents please always ALWAYS support your child. Even though you may think she/he is doing wrong or don’t approve of the other person. Let her make her own mistakes and learn from them.

She's 18 and sure, she's an adult but I'd really advise her to analyze the situation. It's the best option for her. I believe in clean slates for everyone. I wouldn't want her to assume responsibility for a child that's not hers at a young age.

She is going to do whatever she wants but have a conversation with her about possible issues or situations that may come with dating someone with a child. It isn’t like playing house. The child has a mother and her roll will most likely be a caring friend if the relationship becomes serious. Their will be boundaries and beware of scary baby mamas not all are scary but some are cause mama bears protect. She’ll need to be able to step back regardless of her feelings towards an issue between him and his baby mama and understand her stance in the relationship.
