My dad passed away

I made a post on here, maybe a week ago. It was an anon post, but it was me. I was frustrated and overwhelmed with my dads health conditions. He spent years not taking diabetes seriously, and it led to several other, even more serious conditions.

These past few years have been hard, the past two months harder, but the past two days the hardest. He passed away on Friday, after passing out and eventually slipping into a coma. He died peacefully.

He was a marine, a pastor, a musician, an artist, and really had a heart for helping people. He set up a program at the last church he was at to help people overcome addiction issues. He loved to work with kids- his funny side made him the perfect guy to help kids with not-so-great home lives. He bought a bus, just so he could pick up kids for church. It was more than church, though. He made sure these kids ate breakfast, sometimes lunch, as well. He took notice of their too-small or too-big shoes and their old clothes, and would “happen to find” them some new sneakers or a new coat. He loved them, and hated to see them struggle. He made great relationships with the parents, and would often check in on the family to make sure they had groceries or school supplies for the kids.

He was such a generous man, but my goodness. He was cheap. He would squeeze a penny hard enough to make it cry. Lol But, he he was a great provider.

I know all of this means nothing to you all, but man... he was just so great. I took some pictures of some artwork that he’s done just so y’all could see how talented he was.
