Surprise gender birth!!

My favourite thing to do while waiting for my precious baby to be born was read these stories. Enjoy

My induction date was set for April 7th, I had a whole week to prepare myself and also freak out about giving birth.

The day came and I was over prepared with a clean house, everything organized, and bags packed. We didn't have to go in until 5:00pm. My mom and sister came over to see me and my husband off which was nice bc I really wanted them to be there but bc of the Corona they couldn't come.

We arrived and got all settled and hooked to the monitors, I wasn't dialated at all so they put the cervidil in (it felt like a sandpaper tampon) it hurt so bad I thought 'if I can barely handle this how am I going to give birth?!'

They put it in at 6:00pm and told me they would come back at 6:00am to take it out. About an hour later my stomach got rock hard, then it felt like a cramp, then the cramps kept getting stronger, they were happening so fast I could barely catch my breath, and they were extremely painful. The nurses came rushing in and hooked me up to an IV so counteract the contractions. The cervidil was just supposed to soften my cervix not throw me into full blown labour lol. The contractions kept coming regularly every 5-4 minutes lasting 1-2 minutes. They took the cervidil out at 9:00pm and that hurt even worse then when they put it in. I then laboured all night trying to catch sleep in-between each contraction. The next day I was so nauseous, and on like maybe two hours of sleep. The contractions were so painful I couldn't even talk through them. I tried the shower but hated it. Then I just walked around and bounced on the ball basically the whole day. Then around 2:00pm in the afternoon the doctor checked me and I was only 3cm it was so disappointing. I continued to labour on my own and tried to get some more rest. Then around 7:00pm, five hours later the doctor checked me again and I was only 5cm, which was even more disappointing than the other time they checked me. In five hours I only dilated 2cm, I felt so defeated. The contractions started to fade out too so they started me on some pitocin starting it at a 2. Then the contractions were so horrid it made me wanna throw up they hurt so bad! The nurse that I had never left the room she talked me thru the contractions and I asked her about some pain meds because I just wanted to relax, thru each contraction I would squeeze the side handles of the bed so hard I thought I'd rip them off. The nurse then told me to get into the shower until the shower broke and then we would talk pain management. I got in the shower which I actually liked this time around. They bumped up the pitocin to a 3. After an hour in the shower I stopped holding in the contraction and started going with the contraction and letting my body take over. The nurse came in to check on me, she asked how I was doing and to let her know if I felt like pushing. Which I then told her I had been pushing, she said do not push! I didn't listen to her and kept pushing, my husband and the nurse go the room ready and kept telling me not to push. After another hour, I got out and the doctor checked me and I was at 8cm. The doctor told me that the baby was still really far up so I needed to labour on my hands and knees. Before I did I was laying on my side talking to my nurse about how I didn't want pain meds anymore and I wanted them to break my water, just then I felt a huge gush, my water broke! The nurse had me labour on the toilet for three contractions, and some of the sack started coming out. I then got back in bed on my hands and knees like the doctor told me to, it gave me the worse back pain I'd ever felt in my life!! The nurse and my husband were putting so much pressure on my back to distract me from the pain that I had bruises for a week. I started to push but I knew I didn't want to be in that position, so I laid on my side and started to really push with just the nurse and my husband. The nurse then called the doctor, and the doctor rushed in, I pushed for an hour and my baby was suddenly laying on my chest, I just kept saying hi and that I loved them. The nurse then opened the babys legs and said look and I was in shock, it was a girl!! I thought she was a boy the whole pregnancy lol.

She is so perfect 😍 she was born on her due date April 8th at 11:03pm weighed 6lbs and 13oz measuring 19 1/2 inches long.

She is EBF and doing great, even with tongue tie. To me she looks like a doll!

She does have a pelvic kidney this is why I was induced. She had a little jaundice that is cleared up now.

I'm doing great only a first degree tear, and so proud of myself that I did it without any pain meds!! The pushing didn't hurt, but man oh man everything leading up to the pushing was horrible!

It took me and my husband 2 days to come up with the most perfect name for our little angel.

We decided on Naomi Jane K.

She looks just like me 😂

She was the Easter Bunny for Easter, which we enjoyed at my parents house.
