Short nasal bone - would like some advice
I am in my 28th week, and finally finished the anatomy scan over three phases since the baby wasn't in the correct position the first couple of times.
Everything turned out okay except the measurement was on the shorter side. While I still await the exact measurements and pictures, my doctor told me it was at the 2.5th percentile. Both my husband and I are of Asian/Indian descent and the doctor tells me race could have something to contribute. But it is also likely a soft indicator for D.S. None other anomolies. We are yet to talk to the genetic counsellor (awaiting an appointment).
My baby is my everything and she is not even born yet but this piece of information has gotten us excessively worried. Is there anybody who went through something similar? Does the nasal bone continue to grow from this point? And how worrying is it to have this indicator? What can we expect from the genetic counsellor?
[P.S. I am 32, and we declined to have the NIPT since we were not in the high risk category.]
