Naming my kid after his ex?🤦🏽‍♀️

Okay! Long story short! My middle name is Idalia. My husband middle name is Daniel. So it would be cute as hell to name my daughter, Daniella Idalia. BUT my husband has an ex named Danielle? Daniella? Dani? Some bullshit like that. 
And a little background when we first got engaged my husband hit her up when he was drunk and tried meeting up with her 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️ yes I know I should have left him. Red flag. He’s fucking terrible. Blah blah. THATS NOT THE POINT. That was years ago and we have moved passed that. 
**(and fast forward to literally 2months ago, my husband gets a call from her, telling him she has cancer. Which like why would she call him? But! I believe my husband 100%  that he doesn’t know why. He hasn’t even contacted her in any shape form or fashion. He called me right after that happened. So I believe him. 100% I know he hasn’t been talking to her. That and I went into crazy mode and check out phone records💀🤣 and she’s been blocked on everything ever since the first time)
The point is, is it just me and my jealousy making it a big deal? Or is it not that bad and I shouldn’t miss out on this name opportunity?

Well it's not really naming her after his ex, she just happens to have the same name you're thinking of naming your daughter. His ex doesn't own the name.
However, I'm weird with names and wouldn't want to name my children the same name as someone I know.
Does your husband have a second name you can possibly look at the feminine version of, or try amalgamate your names (if it sounds nice)?

I'm rewriting my comment since I didn't really answer the question.
No I wouldn't, it would be a constant reminder there are plenty of other D names. My sons name is Ethan, so is my step brothers but we didn't name him after my step brother we named him after his dad and myself.
E for Ericka-Yhan after NaTHAN = Ethan
At first I didn't like it because I felt because there was already an Ethan I didn't want to name my son that but after talking and working through it we ended up naming him that.
It's all about what you are comfortable with

A lot of people know people they dont like with names that they may one day name their child.
It's a small world. 
Name your child after your SO if that's what you want to do. You are reading so much into him just wanting his child named after him.

You can always switch the names around. Personally, I wouldn’t name my child any name close to my husbands Exs. While some people are all “if you like the name blah blah, it’s not like they own it, blah blah” I don’t need that constant reminder. 
On another note, you are the first person that I have met with a name similar to my moms, which is Idania.
