Are they too similar?

I love the name Amara for a little girl! My hubby’s sister has a little girl who’s only 1 and a half called Auria (Or-Ey-a) and said she would be pissed if we used Amara because it’s basically the same name. I don’t actually think they’re that similar? Does anyone else think they’re too close?

I don't think they are that close at all. I actually love the name Amara as well it's on our girls name list!

Amara and Auria have 2 different sounds. They don't even rhyme. They just start with the same thing both that logic, lots of things are out 🙄🙄 Sure if it was Aria, or Aurora maaaaybe I could see it. But Amara is completely different.

I would say maybe a little too close for siblings, but for anyone else it's totally fine. Use whatever name you want!
