Stay home longer or go work full time?

So my husband holds us together financially. I work per diem so I pick my shifts and I only work 4 days a month. However my husband salary right now won’t carry us to our dream home just yet. We’re young so he still early in his career and we live in illinois outside of Chicago which is fairly expensive. I’m not sure what to do. I want to stay home with my children as long as possible but I also want to provide the best life for them and if that means go to work maybe that’s what I have to do. Idk 😐
