Would you keep your housekeeper/ nanny during this pandemic?

I work part time and husband works full time (we work together as we own our own business) so I keep the children on the days I don’t work but 3-4 days out of the week we have a nanny and house cleaner come (cleaner comes 1-2 times a week to help with laundry and actual scrub cleaning) but since this pandemic I have worked less and less but need to help out with the business more, and I need to get back to working 4-5 days. Our nanny and cleaning lady haven’t been here in about 3-4 weeks as we have been quarantined, but realistically we need them back. Should I let them come back or try to stay home? We can survive without me working and helping out, but it will be very hard on my husband since our employees are also not working right now. I know the nanny and house cleaner are devastated that they can’t work anymore, but I also don’t want to risk my children or family being exposed to outside visitors. 
That being said, I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe. It’s a scary world out there ❤️

We have not had our cleaning lady come into our house. My husband and I have been working and have just picked up the slack of her not coming.

One thing you didnt consider is also putting THEM at risks by coming to work for you.

I am a nanny and still am working with the family. I am more at risk with a whole family here by myself lol than you guys are with one person. As a nanny we have to be hands on with your kids. We are at greater risk as kids can carry it as well

Is the nanny and house keeper quarantined too? I’d make sure they take proper precautions if coming into my home. Especially around my kids, but if you could possibly live without them I would. I understand having to work, though.

No I haven’t. My sister usually cleans my house for me and she’s hasn’t been here in 2+ months. It’s safer for all of us. Both my husband and I work full-time with 2 kids who are now home all day since daycare is closed. It’s not easy but we keep the house clean enough. I try to take 10-20 minutes each evening to clean a room quickly then do a different room the next day. Today is the upstairs bathroom woo hoo.

It depends on what everyone is comfortable with. 
I started a small house cleaning and organizing business before the pandemic- and i decided to isolate since mid-march, just trying to do the right thing! My customers felt the same way.
But now, I feel like I am almost ready to get back to work, because my customers are in a safer position than the beginning, and I feel I know how to properly protect both of us from the virus now. The nice thing about housecleaning, is we are supposed to reduce cross contamination, from outside your house, from us, and from  infecting ourselves. 
I feel like it is a risk, but I would ask your housecleaner what precautions they would take. Nanny too, as they should also have thought about this. 
Personally, I want to get a full body suit, and foot covers, to put on & take off right before I enter a customers house and right after I leave before I get in my car. I will wear gloves and a mask. I may also wear eye protection to keep from touching my face. 
I will disinfect surfaces in the home properly with hydrogen peroxide  (CDC website lists it has to sit one minute to kill/denature coronavirus.) When I first arrive, and on my way out of a house.
At least one of my customers will not be home when im there.
I imagine it will be more difficult with people in the home, and more difficult for the nanny. Perhaps she should get a test, if possible!

Yeah, if they need the work and it will be what works best for your family. If they are relatively social distancing I don’t see the difference between them working and say my fiancé who works with a crew of people in close quarters every day.  My options on this sort of topic always gets me crucified, though, so... 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think its really up to you. Id just use wisdom. Do you or your children have any underlying illnesses? How would you helping business impact you finacially.... significant difference mentally for hubs and financially for business? Those are questions only you can answer. I think if we dont hve underlying illnesses, my city/state/county doesnt have excessive amount of covid cases overloding hospitals already, if me working would help my husband and overall income.... and having the nanny/house cleaner wouldnt drain us but lighten our load...... id have them come and possibly ask them to wear mask. 
     My thoughts are slowly but surely life must resume .... and there is always gonna be a risk without vacinne. We all are just going to have to donsome deductive reasoning and practice due diligence according to our families overall health and needs.
