Has anyone fullterm ever tried the castor oil to speed up labor? If so, does it work? Im over 40 weeks and trying to avoid being induced medically. I've tried EVERYTHING BUT THIS

Castor oil can cause the baby to have meconium in the womb sending them into destress. Although many women take it and are fine I wouldn't recommend it.

I ingested 3 tablespoons of it a day before my due date with my second. It caused me to poop my brains out which in turn put me in active labor 4 hours from taking it. By the time I got to the hospital he came so quick at only 6 hours from taking it.

I did this with my first child! Please don't do it, it takes awful and doesn't help and can be dangerous for the baby :-)

I used it topically all over my belly a couple of times the 2 days before I would have been induced. I was 9 days post due date. I was too nervous to ingest it. I did start having contractions the next day and had my son with no interventions after 10 hours of total labor. Not sure if it was a coincidence, but worth a try
