Breastfeeding nipples

So this is my 3rd breastfeeding journey. My daughter had thrush for a few weeks and we just got it cleared up a week ago or so. My one nipple has recently become sore during feedings and is very rough to the touch. My daughter definitely eats differently on that side and she tends to bite at it as well. I dunno what to do to make the feedings easier. I switch sides at each feeding, I make sure the breast isn't too full before she starts, I try to help hold the breast if she seems to be struggling. Its just so werid cuz sometimes she eats fine and others she struggles. I dunno if shes just being a lazy eater sometimes and thats why it hurts. I have nipple cream but I dunno if the moisture is making it worse and if I should let them air dry for a bit. Any advice? Like I said earlier, this is my 3rd time doing this but my 1st 2 kids never had any issues.
