Pacifier for one month old?

Question

Wondering if any of you used a pacifier with your little one? My boy is one month old, does great when breastfeeding and with any type of bottle nipple. I tried the pacifier today just to keep him occupied while I got stuff done around the house. Didn’t want to continue if any of you have thoughts that might suggest me not using one.

Yes I started using one when my son was a couple weeks old he’s never had nipple confusion his pediatrician told us before we ever left the hospital he doesn’t believe in nipple confusion.

My son rejected a pacifier immediately and never had interest in it for more than a few seconds. I never had fear of SIDS, so I wasn't concerned with him but using it. He's 18m now and I'm glad that it's not a habit were going to have to break. I don't plan on introducing one to his sister when she's born later this month, either.
If you're comfortable with your son using it and he likes it, go for it though.

We've used a pacifier since day 1 or 2 and never had any nipple confusion. It's also supposed to reduce the risk of SIDS. 
It sounds like you want someone to talk you out of using one. If you don't want to use one, don't.

i thought i would wait at least a month before using one but ended up using one on day 2! she’s now 6 days old, we use the pacifier multiple times a day and she shows no signs of nipple confusion. i find the pacifier to be incredibly helpful but understand women who choose to wait to use it
