Joint custody

Can they do joint custody when both parents don’t stay together ? I stay in GA which is a mother state and He stays in FL which is also a mother state. We will be a resident in GA in 2 months. I want to give him his visitation summer breaks holidays but he’s trying to be nasty and try for joint when he just wants child support off.

I told him I’m coming down this weekend and he can keep him for a week and he said if I bring him he’s keeping him and he’s not gonna give him back because I can’t tell him what to do with his kid. Like what ??? It’s always been me and my kid. Why he just got him whenever it was convenient for him. His dad stayed 5 mins from us and barely came.

Every time we talk he calls me a bitch hoe dumbass pathetic and so on then blocks me. Then he FaceTime to speak to his kid but my son never wants to talk. I’m so sick of the emotional abuse it’s been two years? After every arguement he tries to throw his new girl in my face. Then she’s just as worst with trying to throw pics of them in my face.

So now I just blocked him, and everyone that does that & told myself I know he’s gonna hate me but I just can’t no more with this.

What do i do about this situation?

We also have no visitation arrangements, not court custody or anything. We never went to the courts we just went down to the child support office and signed up and he agreed and that’s it. Now he’s in a new relationship he doesn’t want to pay and he owes $1000 in back. My son is also two.

I’ve talked to an lawyer and just said block him and don’t contact him until he takes you to court or until you get those court papers. He does have my address. So there’s no way I’m hiding from him or keeping his son away. I just felt like that was cruel as I do want him to see his kid I’m just tired of being called a hoe dumb ass and etc and the threats. I try to be cordial with this guy and it’s the same over and over.

I moved away to honestly better my life with my son. Better pay, more opportunities and schooling. I’m actually trying to get my own esthetician’s suite here and im in nursing school& I work at the hospital.
