Will your kid / did your kid - go through preschool? Pros and cons? I went through preschool but my husband skipped so we’re not sure of what we’re going to do.

Idk if this applies to you, but my baby is gonna be growing up in a house where spanish and portuguese is constantly being spoken and i dont think I will really teach her much english. I didnt speak english until i went to kindergarten and learned, it never affected or caused a language issue for me but it might not be the same for her so I want to give her pre k as a year to kinda learn the language and make that adjustment. I taught pre k, and kindergarten and first grade, and just from what i saw that year of pre k helps with the whole language thing if that applies to you 😊

Where I live kids start school at 4 so for me it’s important that my kids go to preschool from 3 to get them ready

My son is starting pre school because he’s speech delayed. But if he was talking fine then no I wouldn’t. He’d just go to kinder and up

None of my brothers and sisters went and most of my nieces or nephews didn’t go either. I’m not really sure it helps because the nephews that did go to pre k have had to go to summer school every year in later grades lol 🤷🏻‍♀️

Neither of my kids did/will. My oldest is 8.5 and in 2nd going 3rd. She never did preschool and went right into kindergarten. She was fine! I make sure they’re socialized (dance/sports, parks, play dates, etc.) and I also teach them everything before school. My oldest has always been almost a whole year ahead of her classes. Her teacher said she couldn’t tell she never went to preschool. I am teaching my 3.5 year old too. So she will be ready for kindergarten. I think if you can’t take the time to teach them yourself then it’s probably a good idea for preschool. I’m a sahm so I have plenty of time.

Mine is only because he does early intervention and they switch to doing therapies at preschool at 3. I think it's a great idea though, it gets kids used to school before kindergarten.

My son was 4 when he started pre-K. Now that he’s 5 he will be starting kindergarten. I also went to pre-K as a child. It helps a whole lot but my son has trouble focusing, so I’m hoping the work they have him for the summer helps him a whole before starting kindergarten. I will be working with him until he goes back to school.

We start school at 4 here, some start at 3 if they have late birthdays. My son had been in a daycare since 18m, since the virus he has been home, but once it is gone he will continue to go. I think that is enough preparation in my books. I never went, I don’t really know anyone else that went, we all just went to daycare, whether it was a private home daycare or a daycare centre. I think socializing them is the most important part before they go
