Why did you decide to get a IUI

Question

Hello ladies I am trying to figure out what treatment to do. My doctor left it up to my husband and me to decide what treatment to take. I am trying to figure out what treatment will be best for us at the moment. This is a little background about us we been trying to conceive for 8 years. My fertility doctor had my husband do a semen analysis test his told us his semen was normal besides his morphology being a little low but he is not concerned about it. My husband is currently taking FertalAid for men. I did a HSG and it was normal my tubes are not blocked. My SHG came back normal I have no Tissue of polyps and no endometriosis.  I did a lot of lab work and my TSH level was high  3.760 and my MCV was at 100 and prolactin was 26.7 this are the only levels that came up high. 
I have a doctors appointment this Wednesday with my regular doctor to take medication for my Thyroid. My AMH is 1.74 and I am 29 years old 
My FSH 6.89 and LH 3.60
Besides having my TSH MCV and Prolactin a little high everything else is good. So my question is I don’t know if a IUI will not work because of my high levels but then again I will get on medication to help me. 
I currently can’t afford a IVF this is something I will need to save for a few months but I don’t know if I should go straight for a IVF or at least try a IUI. 
This is the hardest decision I don’t want to continue to wait any longer it’s been such a long journey for us I feel like quitting. But we finally had some answers as to why I am possibly not getting pregnant. The other thing my doctor mention for my age 29 I am not producing enough follicles I had 6 follicles on my left ovary and 4 follicles on my right ovary. He also mention since I have low follicles I most likely will have low egg quality. I am currently taking a lot of vitamins to help me but I just don’t know what else to do. 
What do you ladies recommend? How was your IUI process and did it work?

Im 23 and had 1 failed IUI before moving onto IVF. Im young & healthy. My AMH is normal at 6.5. I do have PCOS but given normal AMH my RE is confident that my eggs are most likely good quality but of course we wont really know until IVF. I moved onto IVF because IUI is only a 25% chance of success for the most fertile couple on their best day & I was given a 75% chance of IVF working the first time. Didn’t want to waste time and money for IUI’s if it potentially wouldn’t work. I’d rather invest my money into the highest chances. So in conclusion, IUI works for some people but IVF seems like the better option in my opinion!!! Which ever way you decide good luck & baby dust!!! ❤️

I choose iui after a while of trying naturally without success naturally. Went to doctor to start on it found out I have pcos and my husband has low sperm count and quality. We did our first iui march the day we did it I got sick and was sick for a couple weeks so attributing not being successful to me getting so sick. Also my doc opted to not do hormone shot bc he thought I was going to ovulate closer to when we did it, got a positive LH 3 days later, this up coming I want the hormone shot if I haven’t had a positive LH. Trying our second time next month (since my infertility office is back up and running)  if unsuccessful I am requesting to get my tubes patency tested and referral to try ivf.

If I were in your shoes, I'd wait the few months to do ivf unless your insurance covers iuis and would be no or very little cost to you. 
At most an iui has a 20% success rate which is about the same as having sex, which you've already been doing. It is unlikely to reap much benefit for you. But its up to you. It only takes one but there is still so much uncertainty with iui. Ivf at most clinics have success rates between 50 and 75%. If you do pgs testing its usually closer to the 75% and helps eliminate some of the guess work that's still involved in iui. Since you know its be a few months, you can take vitamins and supplements recommended in it stRts with the egg to increase the chances of success for egg retrival. 
For reference, in November we started iuis only because my insursnce covered it at $0 and I would have to wait I ntil July for ivf to be covered. We did 4 iuis. All of them failed. Dealing with side effects of clomid, estradiol, and progesterone and going to monitoring apps in the morning before work--sometimes barely making it on time-- was not worth it. We did 4 rounds of iui before I called it quits and said let's wait to do ivf. If I could do over again, I would have just waited until July with no iuis.

I am about to be 28. I have low AMH (1.07) and slightly high FSH (12). Husbands semen analysis came back great besides slightly low in morphology. We have done 6 rounds of letrozole. 3 rounds were monitored with the trigger shot. All three rounds we had great follicles, but due to low AMH most likely not the best egg quality. 
Then we switched clinics and did three rounds unmonitored without trigger. We are currently in a cycle to do IUI (mid cycle sonogram tomorrow). We’ve decided to only do one iui before moving into IVF. 
Honestly it is all personal decision. I wanted to move to IVF but husband was adamant on trying one iui so we could literally say we tried everything before doing IVF.
