FTM Natural Birth 5 Days Overdue!
Hey mamas! I know these birth stories sure made me feel a bit better about not knowing what to expect! Baby girl was due May 10th 2020 and came May 15th. My water started breaking at 4:30am on May 14th, contractions didnt really start until around noon and i was having small gushes of water the whole time! Around 4:30pm my midwife came to the house to check me and i was 3cm, at this point contractions were about 3mins apart and 1 min long. I thought these were pretty intense😂 around 9pm after labouring at home longer we decided to go into the hospital. We answer the Covid questions and get checked into L&D. I get checked again and am at 6cm! I then get in the tub to labour. The tub was great except for the fans blowing cold air right above me, labour had made me shaky anyways and this made it so much worse! Around 12:30 i was check again after my water finished breaking in the tub and i was at an 8! Then things started getting intense. I was so tired and the contractions were coming hard. I didnt have time for any drugs now weather i wanted them or not! I went from an 8 to a 10 in 30 minutes and started pushing around 1am on May 15th in bed. This was the point where i didnt think i could do it.. i didnt know how to push and my midwife wasnt encouraging enough for me. She had a nurse to come in to hold my one leg and i would not have been able to do it without her! I needed her to yell at me to push and tell me when to keep pushing and when to rest. It was the most intense pain i have ever felt. I ended up tearing up into my urethra because baby girls shoulder got a little stuck. Once her head was out the midwife had to use her fingers to spin and pull her out. Once she was on my chest the pain was gone! Mamas you can do it. This was the most incredible and terrifying experience of my life and i would do it all again for my little girl💕
