VBAC stories?

Hi ladies, anyone got any VBAC stories to share (good or bad). We’re pregnant with No.2 and had emergency C-section with first after slow progression and then baby getting cord wrapped around her. Wondering whether to go for VBAC (which I would honestly prefer) or to schedule a C. I just don’t want to end up in labour again for so long only for it to end in a C anyway.

I had an emergency c section after 28 hours of natural labor and still at a 5. Baby showed signs of stress. I was devastated. Recovery ended up being double the time as I had an infection in my incision which needed to be reopened and drained. It was drained several times the first two weeks. 
My second baby I had a VBAC, 13hrs of labor. I literally felt like recovery took a week. I felt SO amazing!! Even had a tear but that didn’t matter. I felt great and I was able to do everything myself when it came to care (for me and my children). 
Currently pregnant with my third and hoping to do another VBAC!! I’d choose that every time if I could.

There is a podcast called the VBAC link that is amazing and helpful! Plus you should have a local ICAN network, and the podcast The Birth Hour features all kinds of birth stories - including so many successful VBACs. 
I didn’t have one myself. But I am a VBA2C for my mom - 1st was due to preeclampsia, 2nd was transverse breech, and then I was born 11 days late and was a successful vaginal delivery for my mom.

My first son was a C Section I wouldn’t dilate past a 5 and I was in labor for 12 hours... my 2nd was a vaginal birth 6 hour labor and 3 pushes.. it was such an easy labor I just regret getting the epidural, the lady who gave it to me gave me to much and I had a terrible reaction.

While I have seen MANY positive VBAC patients, I will never forget the bad one. Uterine rupture, baby in abdomen, crash c section, resuscitate baby... baby lives but was in NICU for a few weeks.

Risk of uterine rupture is very low - similar to every pregnant woman’s risk of cord prolapse. 
Choose a provider in your area that is very comfortable. VBAC link goes over some great info on what questions you should ask a potential OB, and what are red flags that they aren’t actually CBAC friendly.
