Savings...

I have a little over 1k saved up for my baby that I am expecting this fall (November).. I will continue to add to this savings. This is for the baby’s NEEDS until I get back to working. My SO has money saved of course (he has a way better job than me) IM not focused on his money, just mine! What is the ideal amount of savings to have for a newborn? First time parent(s), I am just curious.
