if they're both equal, probably the realtor for personal reasons. but at the end of the day, whoever shows more talent and skill is probably the one i'll go with, regardless of background.

The problem is, those things aren’t equal. Being a veteran doesn’t make you a gold Realtor. So on and so forth. 
The only thing that should matter is can they get the job done. Are they knowledgeable about the area and house prices. A realtor should know exactly how much a house is worth, how much it will appraise for, and how the market is. 
Nothing else matters.
