Animal Crossing? Help!

anyone have any tips for animal crossing new horizons i’m new and never played before! do you have to have the nintendo online (that you pay for) to be able to go places and use creator codes diys???

You do need the online of you plan to go to other people’s islands but you don’t need it for nook miles tickets. I’m actually not sure about the creator code thing but since you need to connect to the internet for those, I would assume you need it.  
The Nintendo online is super cheap though. I think the year is like 20 bucks or something for a single person and like 30 for a family plan.

I don’t have the Nintendo online subscription. The game starts off really slow but day by day you get new stuff and DYI’s. I just started playing it this past Saturday but had to restart it cause I picked the wrong hemisphere.
