Has anyone had their baby go under local anesthesia?

My 15 month old was referred to a pediatric surgeon since the dermoid cyst got slightly bigger. I'm so scared of having her go under. Has anyone experienced their baby go under local anesthesia? Is it really safe?

Local anesthetic is lidocaine in a localized spot. General anesthesia is being completely put under. 
So if you mean general anesthesia, yes my daughter at 1m old was under general anesthesia for a broviac central line put in her chest to receive chemo treatments when going home.

My nephew had open heart surgery when he was about 5 months old, to correct several holes in the lining of his heart. He is 15 months old now and doing fine.

My daughter was about 10 months old and had to have an MRI. It was really scary but everything went fine.

My son had to be put under for his tongue tie to be clipped at 7 months. He was completely fine, super tired and groggy for the rest of the day. 💙

One of my boys had to go under local anesthesia for a hernia repair when he was 8 months old. He was out of it for the rest of the day, but doctor said that was normal. He was fine 🙂
