Worried about covid?

Question

How worried are you guys about covid and your babies getting covid? Sorry if this has already been posted! I’m stuck between feeling like we have to stay inside allllll summer so we don’t get sick or getting out and seeing people so I don’t go crazy. 
What are the thoughts on this?

Personally, we go see family and I’ve taken him to the store with me a few times (in his own stroller, not touching anything) we also do outdoor activities. We went strawberry picking yesterday! 
I’m not super concerned. My husband has been working and in contact with hundreds of people, so if we were gonna be exposed, we’ve already been exposed 🤷‍♀️ 
Living our lives as normal (as possible)

Definitely worried since the number of positive cases is still in the hundreds, people are still dying in multiples everyday, and our economy is starting open up, but it has taken a downward spiral on my mental health and I’ve had to learn to calm down. Super cautious but since my mother and husband are still working, there’s only so much we can do to protect ourselves and hope they continue to work. We are not taking her out in the public but since last week we’ve taken her to remote areas so she can get some fresh air and enjoy the outside.

Ugh...im in the middle. My feelings literally change hour by hour. My eldest starts back at pretty school june 1st. She needs it...its been nearly 3 months of her only leaving the house for walks. I was just getting used to the idea of things starting to get back to normal...this is going to be around for a very long time and I think we need to learn to live along side it now 🤷🏼‍♀️ BUT I've jist found out I'm pregnant...when I was pregnant with aria I had pneumonia  which started around 20weeks...it took around 7 weeks for me to get 'better' but it wasn't until she was born I was 100%. It was awful. That then put my lungs at risk for covid anyway now add on top of that being pregnant and my anxiety is of the scale. I have to keep reminding myself about some figures that were mentioned the other day...they amount of people that have had it in the WORLD is still less than the population of Scotland 🤷🏼‍♀️ still way more than you would want but it definitely puts it in perspective

I’m still pretty paranoid though I’m a Germaphobe in general. I’m also pregnant so super anxious about it. We didn’t see anyone for 2 months. But for Mother’s Day we saw our families from 6 feet away and only outside. We will probably see a few close friends from 6 feet away outside this weekend to tell them the news. 
 
We will also probably do the same for our daughters birthday. Just family and 6 feet away but outside. 
I’m not letting anyone hold my baby.  No Matter how hard of a time they give me. It gives me peace of mind that I’m keeping us and our families safe.

We are fairly relaxed about it. My husband is a first responder so high risk. We are smart (very conscious of what our hands have touched and touch again and constantly washing and sanitizing) but going out now. We stopped all contact with our parents since theyre high risk. My LO and I didnt go anywhere for two months. We are back to somewhat normal as of last week. We sanitize our keys, cell phones, sunglasses, steering wheels, purse handles, etc  constantly. But we’re living life.

I'm still worried, just because I personally know people who have gotten it and a few have passed away, including my husband's bosses wife. :( No children that I know but 2 children in my town have been hospitalized with that PMIS syndrome from covid and that terrifies me. But my family is getting really antsy to see us and I miss my family terribly. It's been 2 months since we've seen anyone. It's scary because both my Mom and my mother in law work in healthcare. My MIL is a respiratory therapist so she's frontline. I told them they can't kiss him and to limit touching him and keep their distance. But my MIL said that we will most likely be dealing with this for decades. I'd rather see my family now during the summer and have to be away from them again in the winter when this gets really bad again (I know I'll be freaking out when it's flu/RSV season ontop of covid). It's something we have to weigh the risks and decide if it's worth seeing our families for our mental health. I also want my son to know his family. 
I'll be staying away from the general public for a long long time though. I get my groceries delivered or do drive up. We won't be going out to restaurants or bars, etc

Thanks for everyone’s response on this! I’m a first time mom and I’m trying to figure out how to balance being a paranoid overprotective mom and keeping sane. Mental health is important too! But I’d also do anything to keep my baby safe
